IMPACT to host “Green Building” exhibition in response to global trends

(February 2014) IMPACT will be hosting the GBR Expo Asia 2014 - The 4th International Exhibition & Conference on Green Building & Retrofits for the Asia market in response to the global trends of green building. The event is part of CONSTRUCTION AND BUILDING TECHONOLOGY WEEK that consists of a series of highly targeted 6 in ONE exhibition and conference platforms that serve specific key sectors of the construction and building industries. It is expected to draw huge participation of over 15,000 local and foreign visitors.

Mr. Ajinveat Vhongthong, Project Manager of Exhibition Project Department of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., as the organizer of Green Building & Retrofits Expo Asia 2014 and GBR Expo Asia 2014 said “There is a positive change in customer behavior around the world towards energy conservation, especially in South East Asia that has actively promoted and supported green building construction. For Thailand, it is not difficult to develop a green building because we receive good support from both the government and private sectors to construct green buildings, factories and retrofits. In addition to new constructions in Bangkok that account for 80% of green buildings, there will also be the adoption and implementation of zero-net-energy buildings in the near future.”

According to studies, the green building industry will continue its global expansion rapidly in 2014. Meanwhile, the leaders in green building trends are Asia, Middle East, Australia, Europe and United States. Furthermore, energy efficiency focuses on all kinds of buildings resulting in higher demands for new buildings, technologies and solutions that emphasize on both new and retrofitted buildings. However, these developments are the result of the continuation of an increased awareness driven by both private and government sectors. For instance, certified green buildings in Bangkok are eligible for up to 20% extra floor space or Floor Average Ratio (FAR).

The event supports growing demand in the current green building market and is scheduled for September 18th– 20th, 2014 at Hall 5, IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. The GBR Expo Asia 2014 will serve as the leading platform for the green building and retrofits industry showcasing leading and quality new products, services and solution. Running alongside with the exhibition is an international conference that will bring together Thai and foreign experts to share their knowledge and experience. Other activities at the events include training courses, workshops, business negotiations, recruitment activities and etc. The expo is expected to attract over 150 companies from all over the world to display their latest technologies and more than 15,000 local and foreign visitors.
