“Thailand welcomes and supports the launch of Beyond Beauty ASEAN – Bangkok initiative which will bring great benefits to the whole health & beauty industry. Thailand skincare market which is the 12th largest in the world has been forecasted to increase from a total of THB17.5 billion in 2012 to hit a value of over THB20 billion by 2017. In addition, the Thailand cosmetics market is the largest in ASEAN and the Thailand Hair Care market is the 2nd largest in the world. Therefore, Beyond Beauty ASEAN-Bangkok 2014 presents an excellent platform for beauty businesses worldwide to reach out to the ASEAN market”, said Ms Ketmanee Lertkitcha, President of the Health & Beauty Cluster, Federation of Thai Industries.

“Thailand’s open-economic policy has been responsible for a strong growth in recent years. The country’s main export markets are the USA, Japan, the European Union and ASEAN, while new markets include China, South Asia, Africa and Indochina. To help increase the value of its exports, Thailand has negotiated free trade agreements with Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand and ASEAN that have resulted in many more opportunities for doing business with Thailand” , added Ms Ketmanee. The 3-day exhibition and conference will showcase 4 key segments of Beauty & Cosmetics products, Spa & Wellness, Herbal & Health and Hair & Nail. Held in conjunction with BBAB 2014, is the 3rd edition of the World Spa & Well-being Convention (WSWC) which gathers both local and international business professionals to network, learn and share their experience in this field. Buyers can look forward to see new trends and innovations as well as sourcing for new opportunities. Mr Andrew Jacka, Chairman of the World Spa and Well-being Convention 2014 organising committee stated that "We are excited to be holding the 3rd World Spa & Well-being Convention in conjunction with Beyond Beauty ASEAN Bangkok, as it enables us to involve and recognize all sectors of the spa & wellness industries regardless of how tenuous the links may be. The spa service sector and spa product suppliers are the key industry sectors, however we do cross boundaries (and borders) with a multitude of other sectors; and to be able to showcase this under one roof in a trade only environment, is an unparalleled business opportunity for all."

“The ASEAN Beauty industry has more than tripled since 2007 from US$4 Billion to US$13.75 Billion. It is projected to see a growth of CAGR of between 3% - 6% by 2015. The anticipated region’s economic integration under a single ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 expects more co-operation amongst member countries at lower cost under a seamless trading regime”, said Ms Nuning Barwa, President of the ASEAN Cosmetics Association.
