TCEB Supports World Blind Union – Asia Pacific Mid-term Regional General Assembly

Organized by the World Blind Union Asia-Pacific in collaboration with the Thai Association of the Blind, World Blind Union – Asia Pacific Mid-term Regional General Assembly Conference was held during 27-29 November 2566, at Duangjitt Resort & Spa in Phuket, Thailand.

Presided over by the Minister of Social Development and Human Security Varawut Silpa-Archa, the General Assembly was participated by honorable dignitaries which include Phuket Deputy Governor Amnuay Pinsuwan, World Blind Union President Martine Abel-Williamson, World Blind Union Regional President Asia Pacific (WBU-AP) Li Qing Zhong and President of Thailand Association of the Blind Ekamol Padtayanun.

Participated by 350 delegates comprising representations from the WBU-AP region’s 21 member-countries, leaders from partnering visually impaired communities and national blind and disability work groups, the event aims to improve the quality of life for visually impaired individuals in Thailand, aligning with national policies and the National Plan for People with Disabilities. It also seeks to elevate the role of Thai blind people in international collaborations and promote their global recognition.
