THAILAND SECURES 405 LEADS AT IT&CM ASIA 2023

October 12, 2023: TCEB led the Thai Team to an outstanding finish at the recent IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2023 held from September 27 to 28 in Bangkok with a total of 405 leads. These leads are expected to generate 5.3 billion baht in revenue for the country and attract over 80,000 international MICE travellers.

Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization), or TCEB, stated that TCEB, in partnership with the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) and MICE Cities, namely Pattaya, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Udon Thani, successfully participated in the recent IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2023 securing a total of 405 leads, including corporate meetings, incentive groups, and international conferences. These leads are expected to attract 80,732 international MICE travellers, generating over 5.364 billion baht in revenue for the country.

The success was achieved the presentation of the brand campaign 'Thailand MICE: Meet the Magic' alongside the 'Thailand MICE to Meet You Year 2023' campaign. These initiatives aimed to invigorate the economy and propel Thailand as a global MICE destination by providing high-quality services while seeking business opportunities for event participants.

Within the event, TCEB organised the Thailand Pavilion, accommodating 40 MICE entrepreneurs. Pattaya City introduced the PATTAYA CITY Pavilion, providing a business platform for 24 local MICE entrepreneurs. Additionally, the ISAN MICE Stand featured participants from three Northeastern cities: Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Udon Thani, with 10 MICE entrepreneurs taking part.

During the negotiations at the Thailand Pavilion, they garnered interest from buyers from India, China, the Philippines, Poland, and Bangladesh. 135 leads were secured with an expected attendance of 26,732 people, generating 1.764 billion baht in revenue.

PATTAYA CITY Pavilion attracted attention from buyers from India, Korea, Russia, and China, resulting in 150 leads, with an around 30,000 attendees, generating revenue of 2 billion baht. Meanwhile, the ISAN MICE Stand gained interest from buyers from India, Poland, the Philippines, and China, securing 120 leads, with approximately 24,000 participants, generating 1.6 billion baht in revenue.

The outcome of 405 leads, attained through IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2023, underscores the success achieved by 74 Thai MICE entrepreneurs from 10 cities across Thailand, which include Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Samui, Khao Lak, Prachinburi, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, and Nakhon Ratchasima.

The summary of results from IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2023 coincides with the conclusion of TCEB's fiscal year 2023. TCEB has also unveiled the successful outcomes of its international conference biddings, securing the rights to organise 23 events scheduled from this year through 2028, with an expected minimum of 50,000 international attendees, including 14 medical conferences.

"All of the significant events successfully secured by TCEB, including the FIFA Congress 2024 and the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), are a source of pride for both TCEB and Thailand. These accomplishments will undoubtedly elevate Thailand's global image and instil confidence in its role as a premier MICE destination," Mr. Chiruit concluded.
