Bangkok, Thailand 14th March 2014 – The organisers of Beyond Beauty ASEAN-Bangkok 2014 organizes its first press conference and beauty forum at Marriot Sukhumvit, Bangkok on 14th March 2014. The event serves as a prelude to the inaugural Beyond Beauty ASEAN – Bangkok 2014 exhibition and conference held in conjunction with the 3rd edition of World spa & Well-being Convention scheduled to take place from 18th – 20th  September 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The press conference showcases the strong support of Beyond Beauty ASEAN-Bangkok by the Health & Beauty Cluster, Federation of Thai Industries which is evident in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Health and Beauty Cluster, Federation of Thai Industries and the organizers of Beyond Beauty ASEAN-Bangkok (Informa Exhibitions & Impact Exhibition Management). The event has also garnered support from key associations in several key sectors of the Thailand beauty industry (Thai Cosmetics Manufacturers Association, Thai Spa Association, Herbal Products Association, Health Food and Supplements Association, National Hairdresser Association, Beauty Culture Association Of Thailand & Thai Herbal Industry Association). In addition, the ASEAN Cosmetics Association has also endorsed its regional support of the event. This further cements the event’s status as one of the most widely supported beauty event in the region and embodies the strong confidence by the industry in the event’s ambition to be the leading beauty event in ASEAN within 1 year.

Beyond Beauty Events primarily chooses Bangkok as the location for its inroads into ASEAN due to the immense potential of Thailand as the key beauty market in ASEAN. Thailand is ranked 17th in world production of cosmetics and this industry has grown significantly, by 10-20% annually over the past 10 years. Its exports represent 1.28% of world exports for make-up cosmetic products. Thailand is one of the most advanced cosmetics market in Asia, behind Japan and South Korea, in terms of technology and formulation. In addition, the spa & wellness has always been one of the key contributors to Thailand tourism and economy which is evident in the sector being identified as a key economic cornerstone by economists. This further lends confidence to Informa Exhibitions, the owner of Beyond Beauty Events in bringing its internationally renowned beauty tradeshow brand name to ASEAN for the 1st time in collaboration with Impact Exhibition Management.  The event is estimated to bring in 10-15% growth of the beauty and spa industry indirectly from related trade deals.

“The beauty and personal care industry is an important sector of Thailand, being one of the most advanced cosmetics markets in Asia. The Thai cosmetics market is worth over 56 billion baht in both domestic and export sales. It is hence very appropriate for Thailand to be the host of Beyond Beauty ASEAN which serves an effective regional business exchange platform for the industry and market”, said Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manger, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Beyond Beauty ASEAN-Bangkok also displays the complete regional platform seeking to be achieved by ending the press conference with a beauty forum discussion which engages key members of the local and regional beauty industry in providing their perspectives of the outlook of Thailand and ASEAN beauty industry. Key growth areas and trends in the industry are identified and attendees have a fruitful session with key learning on the importance of formulating unique selling points in the product/service provided to customers.
