What We Did
Continuing double-digit industry growth demonstrates that Bangkok is emerging as a highly competitive, globally preferred destination for business and exhibition events.
Thailand’s Exhibitions industry has grown by 20% a year for the past four years, and earned almost US$ 1.7 billion in foreign exchange earnings from 63 trade fairs in 2007. In a highly competitive and dynamic business environment, Thailand enjoys many competitive advantages to demonstrate its readiness of exhibition industry. The Exhibition Department has worked closely with local exhibition operators to help meet the many new challenges while simultaneously enhancing their ability to win bids and mount international events.

According to The trade fair industry in Asia, 2007, L’Union des Foires Internationales (UFI), Thailand was ranked first in South East Asia in terms of exhibition revenue and exhibition space sold (380,500 m2 sold/year) and No. 4 in Asia in terms of total fair ground capacity.

Professional and competent event organizers are keys to the success of any event, large or small. Time and again, post-event evaluation surveys conducted with overseas organizers and clients cite three factors as the key to bringing their events back to Thailand- the professionalism of Thailand’s PCOs, PEOs and Destination Management Companies (DMCs), a seamless one-stop service, and service and support beyond expectations.

Continuing double-digit industry growth demonstrates that Bangkok is emerging as a highly competitive, globally preferred destination for business and exhibition events. Bangkok is truly the Exhibition City for ASEAN.
