Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau raises “Go Green Exhibition” to recall trend of “Save the World” together with attracting exhibitor to participate.
 People around the world are concerned over a trend of environmental conservation. It is a social consciousness which everybody realizes and emphasizes to incorporate for keeping our world to be green and embrace all lives to be able to live happily and maintain good environment for our descendent simultaneously. For several years ago, various organizations such as public sector, private sector and industrial sector have alerted and have been interested in environmental conservation vigorously by using “green” concept or environmental concern as an organization policy regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) like Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) is one of organization which emphasizes an environmental conservation. Therefore, “Go Green Exhibition” project has been initiated in order to conserve environment together with inviting relevant industrial exhibitors all over the country to participate.
Mrs.Supawan Teerarat, Director of international exhibition department and deputy of Director of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau said that “Go Green Exhibition” is a policy project regarding an operating process in environmental conservation for exhibition industry in order to stimulate and campaign involved operators in public and private sectors including people to appreciate the importance of operation according to “Green” concept to corporately reduce bad effect to environment from organizing an exhibition as well as encourage potential and enhance competitive capacity of operators in exhibition industry including other domestic relevant businesses for sustainable capacity in competition internationally. Initial period emphasizes an understanding for application of “Green” marketing concept in exhibition industry and stimulate relevant operators to emphasize “Green” exhibition. At this moment, involved organizations both public and private sectors totally 36 organizations which is a satisfactory number for project initiation declare their attentions to participate the project and adjust operation plan to conform to environmental conservation operating concept.
“Practical direction of environmental conservation under “Go Green Exhibition” project applies Cleaner Technology (CT) concept together with other management such as marketing, human resources administration and combination of efficiency enhancement for natural resources utilization and environmental conservation including bad effect reduction resulting in reduction of bad effect and cost for operators as well as promotion for organization image with “Green” operation including to be a fundamental in preparing a environmental standard ISO14000 for sustainable development in organizational level. Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau will use this project as a main selling point of exhibition industry in the future to highlight environmental saving theme as a significant consideration in determining a host of exhibition. Thailand dominates other competitors in worthiness and impressive Thai style services therefore we anticipate the selling point regarding environmental protection will be an advantage in winning an auction for exhibition leading to increment of exhibition in Thailand” Mrs.Supawan said.
Mr.Michael Doug, chairman of department of sustainable development of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry or UFI said that “Go Green Exhibition” project creates an expedition for community of exhibition industry in realizing the significant of environmental conservation operation as an extreme necessity for industry and I am highly pleased that Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau emphasizes this matter. It is regarded as a standard creation for community of exhibition industry in Thailand to follow and UFI is willing to support this project desperately.
