TCEB offers maximum benefits through ‘Extra Night, Extra Smile’ campaign
As the situation in Bangkok has returned to normalcy, the Royal Thai Government is in close collaboration with other authorities to reinforce Thailand’s reputation as a globally preferred destination for all kind of business events and bolstering the country’s MICE industry. Strong visitor numbers at Thaifex 2010 demonstrate that the country is back in business and remains a dynamic exhibition and trade show destination in Asia. Mrs Supawan Teerarat, TCEB’s Exhibition Director said “Thaifex – World of Food ASIA 2010 is considered one of the premiere trade exhibitions in Thailand. We have seen an increasing number of visitors attending Thaifex registered for the extra benefits delivered by our recently launched Extra Night, Extra Smile campaign, which form part of the initiatives helping to add value to the international exhibition delegates.” Though, the recent political tension has not caused any significant impact on Thailand’s exhibition industry, it is very essential for the country to regain the business travellers’ confidence as well as ensure them on their safety and security whilst they stay in Thailand. Hence, in order to maintain Thailand’s position in the exhibition industry, TCEB has introduced The ‘Thailand Extra Value’ campaign, a marketing promotion campaign launched under the “Maximum Benefits” scheme. The scheme offers extra support for business travellers, organizers, exhibitors, delegates and visitors worldwide. The ‘Extra Night, Extra Smile’ is a part of the campaign focusing on offering extra privileges to exhibition participants and is intended to encourage international exhibition participants to come to Thailand and get first-hand experience of Thailand’s capability and readiness in welcoming them back. The Extra Night component of the programme offers a free third night of accommodation to participants who stay at least two nights or longer at the same participating hotel. In addition, the ‘Extra Smile’ component delivers special fast track and airport transfers, a complimentary Bangkok city tour by tram car, plus special discounts at leading department stores and entertainment outlets for delegates. On top of these privileges, delegates come in a group will receive an additional bonus including a package to visit the world’s largest golden teakwood mansion Vimanmek for a group of 20, the exquisite Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha for a group of 40 and a package to dinner on a Chaopraya River Cruise for a group of 80. The campaign will run from now until the end of December 2010. Mrs Srirat Rastapana, Director General, Department of Export Promotion, revealed that “This year is the respective 7th years of success for Thaifex – World of Food ASIA 2010. We, as one of the organizers of Thaifex 2010, believe that the show is confidently expected the number of 80,000 delegates from different countries around the world, generating around four billion baht to the country. It strongly reflects that the fundamentals of Thailand’s economy remain strong with positive growth, especially in food exports, and the exhibition and trade show markets can largely benefit from its success.” The Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Mr Dusit Nontanakorn added that “Thaifex – World of Food ASIA 2010 proves the strong confidence that local and international business community has towards Thailand’s capacities as one of the world’s leading food exporters. Cooperation among related organizations and associations as well as suppliers in food and beverage, Halal food, hospitality, retail and franchise has maintained this events position as a leading food trade exhibition in Asia.” To express confidence in Thailand as a preferred destination for Thaifex – World of Food ASIA 2010, Mr Michael Dreyer, Vice President, Asia Pacific of Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd. revealed that the recent political unrest had only minor impact on the organization of Thaifex – World of Food ASIA 2010. “We made sure that a comprehensive communications campaign was undertaken in order to ensure high attendance of visitors and exhibitors.
